Haven’t seen any notes on here in awhile. I hope that means that everyone is enjoying the nice summer weather. We certainly are. Whenever summer rolls around that’s when I don’t like working and wish I could just be off but I hang in there knowing that in the fall when it’s cold out I’ll be wishing I had something to do. And of course the extra money is always a nice thing.

Info

Jill, here’s how you post on the “home page” From the home page ,log in, then from there go to “Dashboard” or it may even take you right there when you log in. Then go to “write a post” and then do your thing, then scroll down and pick your category (or family name) and then at the side you can “publish” it. It should magically appear on this first page.

Nice to see your post Maureen. Everyone should contribute a little blurb!

Hi: all

Nothing new here.  Same old thing. Dave was home for a week. Now on his way to England, Paris & Rome.  Europe & so on.  Be back in time for wedding.  See some of you there.  We are going July 14th to New Foundland first than to Hubbads.  Bye Bye.

Summer’s Here

Hi All ( Well actually Hi MaryLou)

Hope everyone is enjoying this hot, hot weather. Once again we seem to have skipped right from winter to summer. We got the pool opened last week so as soon as the water warms up a bit we’ll be diving in. John was already brave enough to take the plunge.

Hope everyone learns to type soon and adds to the site. And by the way. Where is the paper newsletter? I thought it might be coming my way soon.

hi!

Hi everybody, I just thought I’d let everyone know what’s going on with me.

I just finished my third year of Applied Math Engineering at Queen’s. Since nobody knows what that is, it’s basically mechanical engineering with more math (yay!).
I’m home for the summer now and I just started my summer job at the Darlington Nuclear plant. I’m working in the fuel handling department so I should get a chance to actually do some engineering stuff. I’m pretty excited about actually getting to do something related to what I’m learning at school.

I guess my mom kind of beat me to it and said most of this already, but I thought I’d post it anyway.

Allison

Hi All,

Just thought it was about time to add a few more lines to give everyone a reason for coming to this site. Allison and Brad are now both home for the summer. We got the pleasure of moving all Brad’s stuff out of residence and back home. We were able to leave a little of it at the house he’ll be moving into in Septemeber. Allison we had to move from one house in Kingston to a smaller one about a block away. Some of the kids she was living with wanted to move elsewhere so when they couldn’t find anyone to take their place they found a smaller house instead.

Allison scored a great job this summer and is working at Ontario Power Generation, Darlington in the Engineering department. It’s going to be diffiult for 4 of us to share 2 cars but we’ll get by somehow. Brad is still looking. He’s had a few calls so hopefully something will come from one of them.

Look forward to seeing all of you, who are going, at David’s wedding in July. We’re hoping to make a mini vacation out of it.

I hope the rest of you will post a few things on here soon too. Enjoy the spring everyone!

I’m Back

Well we have finished “Maple Syrup”! Started the latest we ever have. Jack who has been coming up here to help us, keeps records. He’s been coming up hunting for over 40 ( it’s probably 50 ) years & only missed 1. Maple Syrup since 1985. Imagine! A really poor year this year, too but it sounds like everyone in the area was the same.

Jeff talked Allan into taking scrap metal up to North Bay. Price was way up so they did really well. Better money than syrup and less work.

Babysat Ben one day and gave him some. Did he love it. Aimee works Mondays so Joline & I take turns. He loves the tractor rides, four wheeler rides with Grandpa. He is so much like Jeff was, even looks like him except the red hair.I bring him up to the farm & then home to meet Abbie off the bus.He is at the age where you can have fun with him.

Sister’s Weekend

Well, it was great having everyone here. For those who don’t know, Cheryl, Anne, Carolyn, Leona, Maureen, Elaine and Melissa were here on the weekend of March 15.  We all went to Glow in the Dark Mini Putt and I think everyone had a good time. Then it was back here for Thai food and a little drinking! We all had a lot of laughs and I for one look forward to the next one. Maybe next time others will join us too. Afterall, the more the merrier. Everyone even managed to find somewhere to sleep and Carolyn didn’t even have to build a quinzy

Snow!

I think you’re getting the snow that we use to get. We lost ours when I took out my skis!
I see Maureen has been here! Good for you Maureen.

Digging Out

Well, I think we are finally finished shovelling. This was quite a storm that went through and really it looks quite nice – if this were December! But seeing as it’s March it is kind of tiresome. Ah well, I’m sure the skiers and ski resort owners are loving it.

Not much new now but I’m sure there will be more to post after the sisters get together here next weekend.
